Become a Messenger of Science: Workshop!

The National Science Foundation brings a free, two-day workshop on “Science: Becoming the Messenger” to Iowa universities and institutions on Oct. 16 and 17, 2012. Hosted in Ames, home of Iowa State University, the workshop will be led by Emmy award winning television producer Joe Schreiber, former PBS executive Dan Agan, and bestselling science author Chris Mooney.

During the course of the workshop, participants will be taught to use new media and their presentations effectively as well as undergo live interview training. They will also learn to hone their writing and learn to tell their stories through multiple mediums.

The workshop requires attendance for the whole day on Oct. 16.  This first day is open to all registrants. Additionally, a limited group of researchers will be selected and invited back for the second day.

Registration ends on Oct. 5 or when the workshop is full. For registration and more information, please see NSF workshop web page or contact Chitra Rajan at rajanc@Iastate.edu or Sandra Norvell at  snorvell@iastate.edu
